Dr. Nkem Emenyi “Dr. E” is a doctoral prepared dual board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. Mary Leonard is a Certified Addiction Counselor and master’s-level clinician with a strong commitment to helping individuals navigate the challenges of recovery, addiction, and anger management. Mary obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and is working to complete her internship at Walden University for her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a forensic specialization.

With several years of experience in the behavioral health field, Mary has developed a deep understanding of substance use disorder treatment, addiction, anger management, and crisis intervention. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and has experience in management and director positions, group counseling, and individual counseling. Mary’s counseling style is holistic and person-centered, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can grow and heal. She has specialized training in trauma-informed care, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, family systems, cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, and integrative models.

Mary works with both adolescents and adults, tailoring interventions to meet each individual’s unique needs. By blending evidence-based practices with compassion and empathy, she strives to empower clients to build resilience and achieve lasting positive change.
